hmm so what should I do?

Update. Im unsure but i think i fixed it.changed my internal resolution from 4x to 3x.im at 28-30 fps

You sir are amazing. I am very bored right now with a load of free time. So I plan on doing something constructive. I might as well try to get these textures hi res as much as possible. i for one and very interested in the skill icons they are stupidly low res and blurry and I will release a download of those soon since they shouldn't be hard to upscale with their simple colors.

EDIT: wow this is going to be easier than I first thought. The skill icons are pictures layed onto circles. The icons themselves are all just one color. This is going to be silly easy.

EDIT#2: A quick peek at my progress. I have a basic circle shape no biggie but i am still impressed at myself of the outcome.

you don't even know. I have been up all night. They are actually almost done...

HD SKILL ICONS (among other things...)
CURRENT VERSION: 2.1

EDIT: OK first release. Version 1

Some of the icons are poor quality because I was working on them for about 10 hours straight but There is all the skill/art icons for the battles with the exception of the monados kanji symbol things I didn't feel like doing those right now.

EDIT: New Release! Version 1.1

I fixed up some icons that looked particularly shitty and the next release will probably include the monado symbols. Download is in the same place as before.

EDIT:Latest release! Version 2
I don't think you will have to worry about blurry skill icons ever again.

I looked up what the kanji for the monado symbols meant and then used gyosho style kanji to replace the icons. I do not know if I got all the monado icons because the dump that was posted earlier didn't seem to have all of them. So if you see a non HD icon let me know so I can get that sorted out

also if you see an icon with the wrong kanji let me know what the right kanji symbol is and ill replace it asap.

I also upgraded a few ui elements related to the skill bar so that it looked nice.

download is at the bottom as usual.

EDIT: Some quick changes Version 2.1

I fixed a few icons and remade one and then i also replaced the kanji for the loading screen because it was wrong as pointed out by a user below.

Here are some OLD ingame screenies.

Great job Xenxe, the redone icons look great.

I'd just like to point out some things I've noticed in general that could be problematic as this project begins to grow. One of the largest concerns I have is with the filesize of the new textures. This is especially important in Xenoblade since the game is incredibly large. As a general guideline, I believe that the new textures should be about 4x the filesize of the original, and never exceeding 8x. Now, I don't expect everyone to check the filesize of every single image they create; however, just keep in mind that you should always compress your image as much as possible.

Going along with the filesize concern, I also noticed that some new textures are very large (concerning the scale factor). While Dolphin does allow for 4xIR (which would be 16x image size), the most common HD resolution today is 1920x1080, which is about 2xIR (4x image size). Therefore, I believe that all new textures should be scaled to 4x the original image size (or 2 times X and 2 times Y depending on how your image editing software works). This will help cut down on filesize as well. These are just my general concerns and not official guidelines, but I hope that they will be taken into consideration so that we do not run into hardware-related bottlenecks in the future.

Yeah the new icons are about 10 times the size. I plan on modifying them for the future and I did think about making them 4 times the size actually but I had already started making the icons 10 times the size. The icons right now probably arent such a big deal at that size since the entirtey of them is only a few megabytes. hell the original game could have afforded icons this size anyway.

But i get what you are saying and I may make a version with resized graphics. now I am off to fix certain icons that look like crap now that I have got some rest.

You are great!Thank you very much!
The symbol of the original loading screen is a word self created mean 「read」 come form the chinese word 「 讀」,the word /symbol 「誠」mean「 honest」lDodgy
The noun 「機械」=「machine」,「機」 should be the word /symbol better for the monado art ( Enchant )

Ah I see thank you. I actually had loads of trouble with that particular symbol and I wasn't sure when I settled on that particular symbol and I guess I could have left that one icon out since it isnt a monado art. I only redid it because ot was sorted into the art icons folder in that one dump.

EDIT: ok I fixed it and the new version is out in my release post.
