Vbeam doesn't seem to speed up my game at all but does make some sounds slow. Picking up collectibles for instance plays at like half speed with it on. If you actually see a speed up it might be worth it though I don't personally.

So I've been tooling around with this the past couple of days. Everything's great except for the sound. LLE stutters unless I'm running full FPS, and HLE works perfectly for about 5 minutes, at which point the music gets unbearably static-y.

I have, however, noticed that the static (possibly coincidentally) cleared up when the "clearing code cache" message popped up. This got me thinking, is there a way to manually clear the code cache? I tried looking for a hotkey but didn't find anything. Maybe there's a console command?

I'll also add that the 30FPS patch works perfectly.

I also think it is some kind of Flushing/Overflow error, the static sound. I tried the latest stable release 3.0 with some settings and when the sound started to go apeshit, the previous background music was still playing.

I've tried the 6856 release and multiple other ones, HLE sound will never -not- static up eventually. Sometimes I can go a long while, sometimes it's rather instant. The weird water flow graphical error with the 30fps patch happened on one revision, not another, so not sure what that's about but the game is faster for me with the 25fps one so I'm sticking with that anyway. Rather go for a bit more janky smoothness than 20-30% slowdown in what seemed like too many fights, unfortunately.

this worked like a charm, now the game runs at original speed with 30fps.

The thing is, if you're having 25-30 fps as in a variable framerate meaning that it goes up and down it'll be laggy because you can see the difference between 25 and 30. So either you stick with 25 or 30, because the middle ground is gonna look laggy.

Still get crashing though as I'm using JIT + Vbeam for playable frame rates.

Can you post your setting plz?

30fps finally!

Is it r7714 that you're using?

VBEAM helps a LOT in some cases, and not at all in others.
In the intro I don't see a gain in fps at all, but in colony 9 where I got 35 fps I've now gotten up to 50.
And in some hectic and demanding moments at colony 9 I also see a more modest increase. (one that I really needed, so the options is still a life saver)

To think I didn't know there were settings that affected performance at the iso property screen >.>
I spent hours fiddling with the dsp and graphics settings trying to squeeze out a few more fps and one little option did more than all those hours of trying combined XD

Now a solution for static-y sounds at times and the crashes and the game will be perfect ^^ (I mean perfect for people who don't have OC'd monster CPUs as well :p)
