Man, I wasn't even aware there was a ffx/ffx-2 nexus up. I may have to buy it for PC now, even though I bought the other remaster already for console

After beating the game i needed to get my JRPG fix on (and i didnt find it with FFX-2) so im playin FFX13 (sadly unmoddable) and this game now. As far as leaving the details out of the textures - I'm aware, but just too lazy to make them exact. I figured, a ground level wall is going to be covered with boxes or some junk in front of it most of the time so no need to spend time on something thats always covered up I will be making more textures as I come across stuff that really looks crappy and continues to show up (environment textures, enemies you always see, towns/cities, cutscene textures that look really bad)

The tone of the game is far too different, the atmosphere is too "Charlie's Angels" for my tastes, and I didn't care to try to do missions and breed monsters. I gave it a few hours and said nope, not for me. So after wrecking Penance I ended up starting another FFX playthrough this time using the full party exp cheat with UnX and the expert sphere grid. I did end up porting the CC buttons from this project to work with FFX and donated them to Kaldaien for UnX for those rare Wiimote users out there like me. I was only pointing it out because over time we've had some people point out every small inconsistency as far as a few cracks in the wall. Expectations have always been through the roof when it comes to this texture pack. Probably the crappiest textures you'll encounter is when entering sword valley. It's always been my intention to remake the walls there because they are stretched to ugly, but it's a big undertaking (at least for me) to get them right and I always gave up and worked on other things when I was far more active in this project than I am now. So here's hoping they drive you as nuts as they do me.
@Bighead Just went back through the old threads to see what was being worked on - I used a tutorial for dolphin that told me to play with the texture mode set to SAFEST. Is this still true?
I just saw the fiasco in the last thread when people realized dumping with textures set to FAST vs SAFE gave different results 06-15-2016, 06:16 AM

Is this still true? Nope. The new hash for dumped textures is now the same regardless of any settings. I don't think there's much of a reason to play on anything other than fast, but someone should correct me if I'm wrong. |
