Resus, my master version carries and some freeze in the scenario, but one only, then no more, when remove one of the video cards, it is giving various stuttering, but when I put the EFB to RAM much improvement, I realize that improves when used texture cache in the safe option.

If I play Xenoblade without coretexture pack, I have no problems, while if I install the texture pack, the game runs a little bit slower. It mostly runs at 30 fps, but every 5-10 seconds or so it suddenly drops at 27 or 25 fps, even during indoor cutscenes. I tested this in the first scene at the beginning of the game, running around the city and inside Shulk lab and the cutscene inside Duncan's house. The sudden drops causes an annoying stutter effect. It's unplayable for me because it's not constant and it can't naturally fall in the "back noise" of the brain. Since you didn't read the thread, I will let you know that we're currently trying to address this issue. It seems that any master build past 4.0-5538 will cause issues with custom textures due to a change with Dolphin, at least with Xenoblade. So I recommend sticking with builds between 5234 and 5538 until we get this stuff figured out. It looks like degasus is on it though, his test build already runs much better than current master. Another thing degasus is working on is making the larger textures (or all textures, really) easier for Dolphin to load. Right now the larger PNG files (basically environment files in Tephra and Bionis' Leg and some of the maps) are causing slight lag spikes/stuttering. If we convert them to DDS the lag goes away. However DDS can be a pain to work with (amongst other issues) and we would prefer PNG if possible, so we're waiting to see what happens for now. If you absolutely can't wait to play and want to play lag free, you can download this pack - Link All you have to do is delete the areamaps and environment folders from your SX4E01 folder and drop the two folders from that link in their place. Also make sure you're using build 4.0-5338 as noted above since we know that build works fine right now. This is only a temporary solution for the problem, so it's likely that this may be irrelevant shortly. 03-01-2015, 07:31 AM

Yes, it stutters once per texture per session. But after that, as long as you don't stop the emulation, it won't stutter anymore. For example in xenoblade, you get to Colony 9, it stutters a little bit when loading faces, houses, environment blabla, but after that you have a super smooth experience.
Check it out! It's awesome. -> Xenoblade Chronicles HD Texture Pack

Ok, my next build has this "cache after loading" implemented: http://dl.dolphin-emu.org/wips/degasus-d...10+-x64.7z Have fun testing

@degasus: Works great. Exactly as advertised. The lag spots are in the exact same spots as before, but it only lags once and after that smooth sailing.
I assume this build has the lowered texture threshold change you made for your 5668 build? Edit: Tested with PNG. I'm assuming DDS would be lag free just as it was before. 03-01-2015, 01:46 PM
I am experiencing audio distortions in Alcamoth city with this updated texture pack. The last one worked flawless. Can anyone tell me if he's having the same issue?

If it's audio distortion due to lag, than my post before last explains the current issues.
Edit: You may also want to try degasus' build which is just right up a couple of posts from here. 03-01-2015, 01:55 PM

Edit: This also makes me wonder if we can use higher resolution textures now. IF it's going to lag once anyway, might as well load the best looking one, no? |
