The pack isn't going to get any more complete anytime soon besides the issues with this stutter stuff.
The only things that are left really are environments and armor/weapons, and those are released pretty slowly and with no guarantee of completion. I would just play it as soon as we figured this DDS stuff out. IMO, this game is easily the greatest JRPG of last gen, and is one of my top 5 JRPGs of all time.
From my testing with DDS, Ishiiruka is only superior to master (well, pre-build 5540 master) if we decide to put all of the mipmaps inside of the DDS file itself, and with Bruno's dynamic mipmaps we have to manually edit each texture and insert around 9 different other images into it. And that's probably not going to happen until we get some sort of confirmation on whether or not that's going to happen in master. And by that I mean fix whatever they changed with that texture threshold thing, and the possibility of adding dds internal mipmap support. Many people do not like using non-master builds, or builds other than the current latest. So we're leery of telling everyone they HAVE to use and older build or a non-master build. We would prefer it if we could just tell everyone to go download the latest version of whatever they want. But the latest master right now runs poorly with custom textures, so we're just going to have to wait and see.
@Bruno - Looks like we're getting this figured out. We have your textures in DDS looking great with little to no lag, so feel free to continue working on whatever you want. I'm not sure if you were disheartened from the issues we were having, but things seem to be going in a stable direction. So if you see this give us a heads up on whether or not you're still working on stuff.
