I understand the reason for taking down the download link. Ishiiruka changed a lot over the last few weeks and the installer isn't even compatible with the latest version anymore if I remember correctly. I do have an unreleased update and if I decide to ever release it I will create my own thread due to these kind of situations. I agree the installer is one giant mess a.t.m.
To give a bit more reasons as to why it's taking my so long to "get along" with the next update for the installer. When I released the current version of the installer I was working on multiple functionalities at the same time. Eventually it all became one giant mess not to mention all the bugs that are still left within the installer. The new version I've worked on has been recreated from scratch with a more thoughtful process of how to handle these things with a much more maintainable code and even a logger. However it's been laying in the dust for quite some time know due to other things getting in the way as well as a lack of interest. Essentially the next version I wanted to release is finished for some time now but haven't decided what I want to do with it due to the low amount of support I can give to it. And since all the mods I create are hardware restricted to the original Wii in the end I kinda lost interest in game modification in general it made the entire installer useless.
I realized that I was more often frustrated of stupid boundaries by the Wii than enjoying what I could get out of it. I also didn't (and still don't) have a set goal or objective with what I've created. Sure I had a lot of fun discovering all the secrets the game held and to get small grasp of the mindset of the dev team behind the game, but from a modding perspective there just is no reason to create mods for this game. Custom models could only be imported to a limited capacity. No joke when I'm saying the model of Shulk's head has an capacity of only slightly above 100kb. Or the entire map of Colony9 could only reach to about 5.2mb. There is no fun with that. This being the result of memory allocation.
Although I'm student learning a lot about programming and game development, I'm an artist at heart. Which if I put on paper right now I realize I get a lot more fun out of creating something of my own than modifying that of an other. Even though this game has meant a lot to me and probably many others aswell, there is not really any reason for me to continue...
