Just dropping by to say that I am so impressed by the work that has been put into this game. That draw distance patch looks incredible. It's like ultra settings.
Downloading the latest .png pack now to mess around a bit (2.2gb!?) I agree completely with BH and Frozen last page. If I had the time I had a few years ago (and let's face it, more skill) I would be all over this again. It's a bit frustrating because now that my computer has much better hardware, I find that I just don't have the time I used to have. That being said I think the project has reached a point where anything that gets added is just icing on the cake. 03-13-2017, 11:39 AM
So, i made two videos with the patch + custom textures (the first one is way longer):

My specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 x64 Processor/CPU: intel I7 3770 3.4 Ghz Video Card/GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1060 6GB Memory/RAM: 16 GB Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 5.0-xxxx X64 (always the latest) and the latest Ishiiruka for custom textures. I'm still learning english. Please, be patient with me. And, if i make a mistake, please correct me, i will learn a lot this way! There was a pack a while back that used the same file to patch the game to make certain material map textures work... Not sure if you were the one that made that mod... I can't find the original post, but I still have the files if looking at them would help you figure out what was changed. It'd be nice to be able to have that feature along with the draw distance. And I'm glad to say that I found an even better way to do it. In the past I made it possible by changing the lightning index of all the objects and then adjusting the color of those objects causing them to look rather weired, but now I'm actually able to change the lightning itself. The biggest advantage of this is that I'm able to change the lighting per game scenario. Day, sunset, evening but also during a thunderstorm or even as specific as things like the weather during the attack of Colony 9. This way I can both allow material maps into the game while also staying very close the original lightest of the game. More on that will follow soon.... Edit: Here is an example were I made the lightning red. example: Spoiler: (03-22-2017, 04:30 AM)Rickv123 Wrote: Funny how you bring that up just now . I really just have one question: Why can't you simply use Ishiiruka's built-in Material map feature? Why is a map mod necessary? Ishiiruka found on OP here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-un...#pid297815 The post itself shows details on the material map layout. Because the game natively doesn't support that feature, due to the "lack" of light in the game. That's why you need that patch. Otherwise the material maps won't be visible. Edit: It's not just the lightning that needs to be patched, the game also has this terrible way of blending textures, causing normal maps to overlay onto each other. Which looks something like this..
