Awesome, Toto. Looks like you went crazy again despite your headache
I might try tackling a new texture today. You've been inspiring me with your weapon packs. (06-26-2015, 11:30 PM)frozenwings Wrote: Awesome, Toto. Well here's a little teaser, still a long ways to go though. I suck at filters so I have to hand paint everything and I'm slow, so it takes me forever! So I wanted to throw this out there to see if everyone thinks it's okay so far. I'm busy this weekend so it probably won't be done until next week, depending on time. I've only worked on the one side of the sword so far, which is the right side of the sword in the pic.

Cool, I like some of the other monado swords in the game, glad you decided to remade them
And would be happy to trade my poor filtering skills for your drawing ones, the final result will be a million time better than anything I can do... The more talented people like you will contribute, the less what I've done will be useful but that's OK, if at least it motivate other artists it will benefit this project What I done is merely a "hotfix" until proper redraw is done, it do the trick but it will be easy to do far better with proper skills, that's how I see my contribution

Haha. The textures you make are greatly superior to the default textures, and you can make them pretty fast. I highly doubt many of them will be replaced anytime soon.
Sadly I don't have the time I used to have, otherwise I'd probably be more into this stuff. And I'd hardly call myself talented, like I've said before, I basically just brute force stuff together until it looks good. It's like 25% skill / 25% trial and error / 50% luck. And I'm sure there are some things that I can do to make stuff go faster, but I'm a noob so I always take the long way. 06-29-2015, 07:31 AM
New weapons pack, play with some of nice Sharla's stuff this time
Sharla_Weapons_Pack_1 (PNG).7z Sharla_Weapons_Pack_1 (DDS).7z As you can see I reworked 2 already released weapons so I included a simple bat file to delete old ones (not the same folder structure) or, if you want to do it yourself, delete the following files : Quote:If you use PNG pack : I do not feel very well these days so I don't think i will release something else until next week-end, if you have something in mind feel free to write it down and I will do my best

Looks really good from what I can see on my phone. I'm sure I can figure out a few requests when I get home
The replica monado (which also will be recolored into the monado rudra) is about 70% done. My son broke his elbow Friday so I'm not quite as far as I want to be, but he's even more needy than usual. I'm hoping to finish in the next 2 or 3 days. Edit: I hope you feel better soon 06-29-2015, 06:15 PM
Here's a sneaky peak of what's been done so far for the Replica Monado. I'm taking any suggestions now, obviously still a bit of work to be done.
One thing to note is that the circle part on the top right of the sword is warped because of how the texture is wrapped around the model and there's not much I can do about it. The original texture is warped too, but it's hard to see because of how blurry it is. Besides some more redrawing, painting, and adding some more details/shading, I'm going to run a brushed metal texture over most of the green parts to give it the metal looking finish. It was very difficult to decide where to put the monado "light beams" since there is a lot of pixel bleeding, and it looks like perhaps I should try to make a glow effect for the beams. However, no matter what I try it looks really gross. So any suggestions/ideas or if it's fine as is, let me know. Spoiler: |
