I used it at the beginning, but the main problem with the .PNG pack is the ram-vampirism lol.
Thanks for the work.

I think he is talking about the "Lite" pack NOT the PNG files. Oh and Bighead the Camera (Cont'd) Tutorial is still using the old buttons even with the PSX layout textures in place. So it looks like it hasn't been converted to PSX buttons yet. 08-09-2017, 03:31 AM

There are 112 of these I think, but there are over 200 tutorials in total IIRC. I do hope to someday finish them all, it's mainly a problem of motivation. Lots of work involved (especially since there are multiple controllers + legacy versions) for very little pay off. 08-13-2017, 06:38 PM
im having problems with the new v8.3 dds pack, it wont load the textures but when i use the png version it loads. i think its because of the new BC7 compression, when i turn back to v8.0 dds pack it loads just fine. please fix the dds version, by the way im using Ishiiruka 758

Just so it's known, I never plan on releasing DDS textures compressed with DXT1/DXT5 ever again. If someone wants them in this format for some reason, then they will have to convert it from the PNG pack themselves. Or if someone else wants to convert and upload it, then that is fine too.

Is there a standalone offline draw distance patch or a version of the installer that simply patches the ISO and doesn't download files or adjust dolphin settings? Also a general question to anyone who has tried it - how are the 60fps code and the draw distance patch working together in the most recent versions? I know they didn't work together well (and weren't intended to do so) previously, just curious if there is any improvement. (08-15-2017, 06:27 PM)EmuMind Wrote: Thanks a lot for your continued work! Please refer to this post, info you need starts at second paragraph all the way till the end of the post. Don't forget to turn custom models to low and disable advanced light if you don't want those features and just the draw distance modification. I finally got all that taken care of, so now I am working on updating everything here. I mostly want to comment on the textures you uploaded. I must say, great job on these, I only noticed one thing that stood out, and it happens every time someone attempts to remake these textures (this will be the 3rd time). (08-08-2017, 12:09 AM)frozenwings Wrote: Wow, I missed that texture update by Rickv. Those walls in Sword Valley have haunted me and Bighead for years, hahaha. We've both tried a ton of times to get them done, but it was such a huge time investment for us. If you were able to get them done quickly, then that's really impressive. If they took you forever like how long it was taking for us, then I applaud your tenacity. Amazing work all the way around on these textures. @frozenwings, I'm glad you like the sword valley textures. It was a rather interesting art-style the developers went for. Sadly some of the details haven't been carried over to the HD textures, and I plan to make a small update for them when I have time. I worked on them for about half a month, but I haven't just been texturing. Obviously I've also worked a lot on Custom models, and boy that can be tedious at times. So I create the textures as a "distraction" to get my mind away from all that hacking/modding. It's so annoying that I have no proper way to debug the game or something. Every time a make an adjustment I have to rebuild the iso and check if everything went right and that there are no bugs or anything. However when you finally see your custom models loaded properly that stuff is satisfying. @Bighead, although currently the game has no perfect solution for texture seams, I am working on a solution. A demo of this feature is already included within installer. If you have installed the custom model quality at medium or high there are a few objects that now support transparency. examaple: |
