I'm using version 5.0-5084 (which should work) I also used latest development build for testing, but same result. I'm puzzled. (tried to extract with winrar and 7-zip also).

I'm also having an issue I hope I can get help with. After applying the draw distance patch, the game boots fine. However, when I start a new game/load a game, the game will crash during the loading screen and give me the following error:
"Invalid read from 0x5eaf973e, PC = 0x803dabfc" I'm also using the HD texture pack, although that works fine. Dunno if it's relevant. 08-31-2017, 05:31 PM

I believe it happened because you tried to apply the draw distance patch option only. I fixed it by running the installer with all default settings. It downloaded all the textures and it took a while but the ISO loads now. You can disable the post processing effects and delete the textures if you want to use the ones from this post. Hope it helps. 08-31-2017, 06:24 PM

You will have to use PNG or convert the PNG textures to DDS using DXT1/DXT5 (my script here can do this). Honestly though, I think it may be time for a graphics card upgrade. That one is near a decade in age. (08-31-2017, 05:31 PM)svill Wrote: I had the same problem. I believe it happened because you tried to apply the draw distance patch option only. I didn't even know it was possible to skip parts of the installer, so I gave up on the patch until someone else mentioned it. So I tried it again by skipping the download, but now the game crashed and I just said meh, I'll figure it out when the day comes I replay the game. 08-31-2017, 11:40 PM

I tried what you said but I'm still getting the same error. Didn't touch any settings during installation aside from choosing not to download Ishiiruka. I'm sure I didn't touch any settings since I didn't increase the draw distance at all; the Bionis wasn't visible in the main menu screen like it was last time I patched.
Just to clear things up.
The *Mechonis in the main menu is only available if you set custom models to high. The general idea behind the custom model settings is as follows Low: Contains the original files Medium: Enhanced certain models and adds geometry to them. High: Enhanced certain models and adds geometry to them aswell as additional models not present in the original game. Installing textures and installing custom models is it's own entity. They DO NOT depend on one another nor communicate with each other (except for when an custom models uses custom textures but so far no custom model has that). The issue is with the actual processing of files themselves. I'm sorry so many of you experience these kinds problems. During the process of making the installer I've made a lot of poor and regrettable changes that are know standing in the way of getting a reliable installation. I'm (slowly ) working on the next release with some new features. After that I'll redesign the coding style of the installer to a more feasible way, that makes it both easier for you guys aswell as for me. I'm sorry for the lack of updates and communication. Ever since school started I've been completely slacking on developing for the game. I'm trying to pick up the pace again but I keep getting halted by both school and work. I hope you guys can understand. That doesn't mean I have done nothing about the game at all. Progress is being made. My mind is bursting with ideas, both on ways to improve the installer aswell as improvements on the actual game. I want to implement things like logging, version numbers, and improve a lot more on actual error handling of the installer. I'm thinking on starting my own thread as I do think this thread is getting derailed pretty badly, ever since my first version of draw distance patch. I really appreciate the bug reports and feedback from everybody and will try to fix the issues reported in this thread aswell as implement some of your suggestions. Thank you for your patience ! 09-01-2017, 07:52 AM

I didn't know BC7 was a DX11 feature and I was going crazy. I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME! (I'll try your script for DXT1/DXT5 compression on the PNG pack) 09-04-2017, 12:22 PM
Is the 4:3 Support/Letterbox Removal Gecko code working with the patched iso of xenoblade?
I ask this because I still get the black bars with the code in the wiki. Thanks 09-04-2017, 11:35 PM
Hi there,
I have a 1070, 8gb ram, i5 4670 I'm using the dds patch. I've tried all the different versions of dolphins that I can think of, the game runs smooth until I initiate a battle, frames drop to around 30 40 and it feels like slow motion, sometimes it drops completely to 0 for a sec so there's a huge stutter. Is this normal for my specs? If not, what am I doing wrong here. I really want to try playing this game stutter free at 60fps Thanks (08-31-2017, 07:54 AM)Mypie Wrote: I'm also having an issue I hope I can get help with. I've tried only installing patch and running whole shebang. The game loads fine, I see the dude in the background, I try to load a save and then it craps out with the Invalid Reads. Selecting 'New Game' just leads to infinite loading. The texture pack itself works just fine, unmodified game ISO works fine as well. I've been testing this on 5.0-5408. Cheers |
