xbox360 input not working in some games

I have problem when trying xbox360 pad with
new supermario bross, or super mario sunshine

it does not respond to any button,

however when playing super smash brawl, it works fine.

also none of the versions allowed me to play a boy and his blob, as it does not accept any inputs for some reason
