I've always used letter bindings, as I've not used a gamecube pad much at all, so it's easier to match things up, and there's also the advantage that on both controllers, A is often used to accept and B to go back. However, people who play games like Smash really need the positions to match, as some things are laid out such that, for example, a low attack uses a lower button.
Right, but with Xbox games, you press B to go back, not X. This control scheme assigned B to the X button, which could end up being confusing.
Was gonna call my friends and get 'em all together
I was gonna go and start a band
But everything I wanna do, it's already been done
Why would I wanna go and do it again?
