Xbox1 controller not working with Mario Sunshine

As the title says, my xbox1 controller does not work with Mario Sunshine. This is only the second game I have added to my Dolphin library. Melee--my other game--works just fine with the contoller after I configured it. The keboard controls work no problem on sunshine.

Is this a problem with the game, the controller, or the emulator? Forgive my ignorace I am very new here

Appriciate the reply, but I got it sorted out. I just had to set up my controller under 'Configuration 1' instead of 'Configuration 2'. A very simple fix but, again, I'm very new to Dolphin
