xbox 360 controller help

Hi im new here and just tried playing xenoblade in hd I have the original game and wii few years back & decided to play it again in HD ^_^. My wimotes are already banged up but still working but some buttons are already non - functional. Anyway Just recently tried to play using an emulator for hd experience but here's my problem. I can map the buttons using my 360 gamepad but in game they wont respond. Im using the 4.0 32 bit version thanks in advance for any help.

Use 4.0.2 or one of the latest dev builds.
Also, try enabling background input
