The creators have SD card images of several Linux Distro's that work fine on the Raspberry.
They've also revamped the specs a bit, so both models A and B have 256MB RAM.

If I could get decent internet in my area I would definitely go for it.

Just installed it and it looks very good, its pretty light on memory too actually, the only problem is that it didnt have an audio enhancer of any sort so the audio sounded drab and normal, it didnt have an equalizer i could configure but i'll search if there's an add on of it somewhere, exiting is also sometimes a hassle, maybe its because my rig is weak as i have to terminate the process from the task manager atimes apart from all this its a pretty sweet program!

You can set movies and music to play via VLC while in XMBC if you like. I can't say that I've ever had an issue with XBMC closing, it always works perfectly.

Searched their forums (they also use MyBB but still use reputation points ) it seems some of the devs are against an equalizer and that users should just stick to the mixer.

People still decode audio on their PCs? Bitstreaming FTW
Edit to satisfy Douchey McNitpick. That's a joke NV in case you don't watch N Critic. 06-04-2012, 08:53 AM
You realize that the audio has to be decoded at some point right? Bitstreaming simply lets the receiver decode it instead of the source device (in this case a PC).

With S/PDIF Passthrough the receiver can decode Dolby ProLogic II/Dolby Surround/5.1 Audio using AC3 Filter.
