Not many devices that can even run 64bit x86 code on android, but now that it's a feature may as well get a discussion going. Bearing in mind that no supported device has ES3.2 or Vulkan (the only known device is the Lenovo Yoga Book which is scheduled for a nougat update). How does the perf compare between x64 and armv8 on android? I know Intel's drivers are meant to be quite a bit better than the usual android variety, but an atom chip just doesn't sound performant in a situation like this. Can anyone with more insight share some knowledge?

It's difficult to measure performance between the two as you can only compare entirely different CPUs, and perf wouldn't be comparable across the board because even at the same clock speeds, it's very unlikely that perf would be identical or even similar. So comparing POVRay scores would be useless.

However, the x86_64 JIT is a lot more mature, paid attention to, and worked on than the aarch64 JIT, if that's any indication to you.
