Nice if I could figure this one out before my sister gets back. Anyone that are familiar with Sony cameras see this please.

I think it's 3 or 4 year old... so doubt there's any warranty left. Anyway, going from fully operational state to completely useless like that is quite a step

Have you tried to reformat the sd card or wathever the storage it uses ?

zoomed in to an extra level?

NOW I feel stupid... I didn't even know there was a zooming function... there's a little switch that's zooms in when bent the one way, out when bent the other... and it was zoomed in to the max. So I must have come near it when I reeled back the tape.
