"Wrong version" error when loading save state from same engine, different DSP [5.0]

Started a new game (Baten Kaitos), saved state to go change audio settings, restarted the game and tried to load, and got the error:

Code:
State is incompatible with current DSP engine. Aborting load state.
Unable to load: Can't load state from other versions!
The savestate was created using Dolphin 5.0

I can understand the problem with loading using a different sound engine, but it still makes it sound like it's a version issue, despite me not even restarting Dolphin between save and load attempt.

Is it just a catch-all error for any save state load error? If so, it might be nice to silence it when there isn't a save error whatsoever.

This happens when using an incompatible MMU setting too. There's a report about it on the issue tracker, but nothing has been done about it yet.
