Hi,
I'm really confused right now:
1 month ago i was able to play ssbb in 1080p smoothly on my system using my nvidia gt 555m. Then i bought the game Sonic Generations (WORST buy ever). Turns out not being supported for nVidia optimus technology. Some guys got it to work by adjusting settings at [right mouse button on desktop -> screen resolution (win7)]. I did that, miserably failed, crashed my laptop and used system restore to get it back to work.
Now when i play whatever game on Dolphin, even though i force him to use my GT555m, i KNOW it's using my intel on board card because everything is laggy and has bad graphics. i have NO clue how to fix this so i hoped maybe you guys would have an answer.
This was the presumable fix for the Sonic Generation problem which helped a select few people, excluding me:
"Sonic Generations doesn't detect the nvidia graphics cards with optimus, but I did find a fix on the internet. It worked for me.
Here‘s a fix for anyone using nvidia graphics cards with optimus. The game doesn‘t detect the graphics card and a patch hasn‘t come out so follow the instructions.
1) Open the nvidia control panel and add both the Config and Game.exe under 3D settings.
2) Switch them both to [High Performance Nvidia Processor]
3) Apply
4) Select [Screen Resolution] from the desktop and click Detect, (Just right click the desktop and then click detect after selecting "screen resolution' in the window that pops up.)
5) Click the greyed out display/displays and look for your Nvidia card. Then ‘attempt to connect anyway‘
6) Apply then select ‘Extend displays‘
7) Open the sonic config and select your nvidia card and play (I still got the error message at this step so I selected the integrated card in the configuration tool, but it still ran on the nvidia card.)
The game runs a lot better on a dedicated graphics card "
I think step 5 is where i screwed up my laptop, there it crashed and would load with black screen, only booting in safety mode, then using system restore.
Many thanks in advance,
Wranche
Where is the "Edit" button? I can't seem to find one unfortunatly!
Extra information:
When i go to [Control Panel > Display > screen resolution] it shows "1. mobile PC Display" linked to my onboard gpu. Im not sure if it's ever been the nvidia card, but atleast added the information here.
Thanks,
Wranche
