Question
Before buying a Celeron wolfdale E3300,(I do not have a lot of muneyz).

Would it achieve about ~60fps in "MarioKart DD" (my own first rip!), my old/current CPU is a Pentium 4 dual-core E2180, it reaches ~35fps - ~40fps. Dolphin svn6452 is being used.

How much improvent (in FPS) will I see/receive?

With a Celeron, forget it.
It would perform worse than a Pentium.

Well the newer Celerons really surprise me, I built a Celeron computer in tech class and found it had a rating of 6.1 our of 7.8 If your old Pentium 4 can achieve that much, I suppose a Celeron would be a good choice too.

My suggestion is that you get a Pentium (not 4, the newer ones LOL), as Celerons are really just lower end Pentiums. For $20 bucks more, you will see the difference in the long run.

No.

These are new celerons launched in 2009 and 2010. They are about equal to the lower end core 2 duos, just with a rebranded name and cheaper price (roughly similar in performance to the dual core e5200's they're replacing.

Once overclocked to about 3.2ghz they will run apps quite well and don't cost that much (probably wont be getting full speed in galaxy)

They also have pentium Ds based on clarkdale that will smoke any core2duo/core2quad and get close to an i3 in performance. Remember pentium/celeron/etc. are just "box names", a label that they slap on the box of a product, they aren't the name of an actual chip they are just what marketing decides to call a product.

@moerik

It would help A LOT. THe difference between those two cpus is night and day. However it would help if we knew your other system specs.
