for example ASUS P7P55 got full 2*x16 and 2*x8.
dont get me wrong, i would rather buy a i5 750(more likely 860) then a 955, but thats because i would buy a good board with it and overclock to upper end.
on stock, i dont see a reason for this cpu.
you can add lots of lanes via nf200, but only 16 reach the cpu anyways, so no benefit. nf200 only benefits inter card communication, which is not the bottleneck. For multi gpu, I'd go with the full fledged bloomfield/x58 combo.
