Hello,
I've been running into some trouble getting my wired Xbox 360 controller to register on my computer. I am running Dolphin 5.0 on my Windows 10 laptop. I have looked at several tutorial/troubleshooting videos online and can't find anyone who has addressed my specific issue. Here's what I'm doing:
- I plug in the controller to a powered USB port. I hear Windows chime to indicate that a device has been plugged in (though no message pops up), and if I press the center button on the controller, it flashes and stays on.
- In Dolphin, I click on "Controllers", select "Standard Controller" from the drop down menu, and hit "Configure." I refresh the available devices on the new drop down menu, but only "DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse" is available." In the tutorial videos, other people have the option for "xinput/0/gamepad" which allows them to begin configuring the Xbox controller - but I can't even get that far, I'm at a dead end.
- For troubleshooting, I open my device manager, see "Xbox 360 peripherals" and "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via play & charge kit." I right click and try to update the driver software but it is already up to date.
- In the search bar at the bottom of the screen, I search "game controller" and the "Set Up USB game controllers" window pops up from the control panel. The list of installed controllers is... empty - with no way to search for or add a controller.
Sooo... I don't think this is an issue with Dolphin so much as an issue with my computer not fully recognizing that an Xbox controller is plugged in. Any advice?
