Windows, because I'm not a fangirl who would buy overpriced crap for no good reason, and then use it to run barely supported (on that OS) software.

All the evidence shows that the fastest two backends overall are the two DX ones, and they're only available on Windows. OpenGL is available on all platforms, but is generally fastest on Linux, then Windows, then, slowest of all three, OSX. Also, due to the fact that Apple targets the non-tech-savvy with low requirements (i.e. those who want to click a button and then type stuff and hit print, then get a piece of paper with words on, but don't need much more) and the filthy rich. Advanced software, such as complex games, and emulators, are not what this target market use (except the rich people, who instead buy an alienware laptop, but that's another rant), so the OS doesn't need to support these applications, as writing the necessary code means people must be paid, and that money can't be used for gold leaf on their executives' toilet paper. Quote: It's a rather bold statement saying despite the problems with dolphin on whichever platform I'm talking about they still use it because they're fanboys. This is either you stating the definition of the word fanboy, or stating that Windows has the most problems, which is incorrect. In fact, of all the platform-specific problems I know DOlphin has, they're all OSX exclusive. Quote: For one, out side of dolphin windows has far more problems and features their customer get angry with. It's harder for an OSX customer to get angry about problems and features because there are far fewer features which have the potential to break. Also, you must remember that OSX needs to run on about 5 different systems, as they only sell a few different systems, whereas Windows will work on just about any x86 system, and Windows 8 on just about any powerful ARM system. This huge compatibility is bound to lead to some problems somewhere. Quote: Plus I can't speak for all Mac OS usersWell then stop stating your own personal experiences as fact. On topic:
Windows 7 because it is simply the best OS to use dolphin on. I have used it on Linux(Ubuntu) and it runs well on it, just you are stuck with the opengl backend. Not a bad thing, but I like the DX9 backend. Off Topic: @Dennis Dude, was it your plan to be a douche today? Seriously. You've insulted 3 veteran forum members today who were stating there opinion or trying to help. It's bad enough they answer tons of questions a day, let alone weeks, about what hardware works and what parts should people get and "how does A and B work but what about C". You've done nothing but been a dick to everyone who states their opinion when it isn't yours. If I'm reading into this way too much and getting pissed for no reason then my bad, but man come on. The least you can do is quit being such a smart ass. 06-07-2013, 09:47 AM

Well in this post I thought I was polite but I use A new Mac Pro because I got it for free and been upgrading it mainly with PC parts cause their cheaper but and i use Mac OS because I like some of new features with it. I read this person comments on people that use dolpfin on osx to be a little offensive. Everyone's tastes are different. Fanboy labels do annoy some people. If I insulted the creator of this post my apologies

Don't worry. Because I'm a deity, and therefore know I'm perfect, if someone tries to insult me, it doesn't offend me, but instead lower my opinion of the person using the insults.

Your harsh sarcastic tone isn't really making this situation better.

But I didn't even use [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags! (Although I see how it could be unhelpful).

I have never understood the hate towards Mac users or the hate some mac users have towards PC users
I have a normal PC, which run both OSX and windows (and linux for that matter), and I do certain things in Mac OSX and certain in Win7. Regardless of what people tell me, some of my workflow is more efficient in Mac OSX, thus I use OSX for work and win7 for pleasure When apps works both in osx and win7 I tend to choose OSX, because I don't have to reboot. Lately Dolphin has fixed quite a few issues, like the lighting bug, however FPS is 20% worse than before. Luckily i have a fairly beefy machine, so most games are still playable at full speed, however some are not. (I've finished both Xenoblade and The Last Story already, so I'm not sure it's a problem for me any more). I did however finish Xenoblade on 3.0-589 with HLE patch and i had no crash issues, which I believe might be more stable on Mac than win7. (As far as I've heard XB has been quite crash happy on 3.0-xxx builds on win7) I'm very grateful that the dolphin developer community have chosen to support both mac, win and linux!!!

Well this particular thread is about which to choose for dolphin. So the choice should be pretty obvious. MACOSX has more bugs and worse performance than the windows builds. It especially doesn't make sense to pay more for a mac system for dolphin when you'll have a better experience with win 7 and probably end up installing that anyways.
As for people who hate macosx. I can think of four reasons why someone might hate it: -They hate apple in general due to anti-consumer practices, bad industry practices (forcing proprietary technology and such), and their userbase -Cost vs. benefit analysis -The fact that they won't sell the OS to non-apple system manufacturers and it's illegal to install the OS on any non-apple system (not that this stops people from doing it) even though they use the same hardware as everyone else. This often forces people to use a different OS at work/home if they want to use it, which people really don't like to do. Consistency is good. -They do actually hate the OS The first reason doesn't bother me so much. But the rest certainly do.
