I was thinking about getting a Windows 8.1phone for dolphin and to be more productive with my phone. Is there touch controls available for the windows version of dolphin ?

Please note that this phone comes with a 64 bit processor and is running the full official 8.1 version of windows 8

Just wondering if this is possible.
Thank you

Just to make sure, are you aware that Windows 8.1 is completely different from Windows Phone 8.1? I never heard of any phone running the full version of Windows 8 (the same from PCs)...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)

There is no phone on the market that runs a copy of Windows 8.1 like what you see on a computer. What they run is Windows Phone 8.1, which is different and will not run a .exe Windows program.

This is the first 64 bit android phone which is dual booting Android 4.4.2 and the full version of Windows 8.1.

This is all thanks to its processor and video card which is intels new mobile 64 bit chip.

Its the same kind of processor which runs most windows 8.1 tablets like the Dell pro 8 line.

The Dell tablets have videos on youtube which seem to run dolphin just fine although without touch controls.

Oh yeah, you brought that up in your other thread.

As for how well Dolphin will run: it won't be pleasant. The Atom Z3736F powering it has shittier single core speeds than my ancient Core 2 duo system. You'll only be able to run the most lightweight of games most likely. From looking at videos of the Dell venue pro 8 run Dolphin 4.0.2, it doesn't run past 45 fps on Mario kart DD in time trial (only one kart on the screen). Recent Dolphin changes may allow it to run closer to fullspeed, but that's one of the lightest games possible to run in Dolphin. Anything else will be too slow to be enjoyable. Even the Nvidia K1 on Android can get closer to fullspeed.

I also can't even imagine the amount of thermal throttling that will also probably take place on that phone, which will also impact performance. But if you really want to, then go ahead and get it to try it out.

As for touch controls, I know there are a few 3rd party programs that can do that, but there are none yet built into Dolphin. Maybe once the QT version of Dolphin gets completed (still in test phase, not up to par with current Dolphin) then touch controls can be implemented.

I completely understand that this is a cheap chinese knockoff that just happens to use one of intels new mobile processors.

Intel bay trail chips have been poor in the past so i dont expect much but it is nice to see Windows 8.1 hit mobile phones finally.

I suggest waiting to see newer faster chips hit the market but this should be enough to handle Windows app store apps so it would be nice for that.

I likely wont buy this phone right away but if someone does get it then i would like to see how these devices perform and compared to snapdragon chipsets.

It has an atom i see... Personally i think the main limiting factor will be it's capacity, 32 gbytes storage to fit both windows 8 and android... My windows folder alone in windows 7 is 32 gbyte currently. It is an interesting phone nevertheless.
