Edit Reason: My sentence made no sense

And it isn't even spying of a kind that could ever be used against the user, just, for example, what percentage of your clicks are the save button. Most ad tracking is far more risky, and that doesn't stop most people from using the internet with javascript enabled.

On a serious side: are you guys reeeeealy concerned about spying in Windows 10? They're not doing anything worse than what other giants like Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple already does and even then the focus seems to be in Microsoft only...
And about automatic and mandatory updates, I actually like this behaviour: if MS is now treating Windows as a service, this makes a lot of sense, they'll probably roll new APIs and frameworks in future builds and that would cause a lot of headaches if a developer is targeting an app that needs a shiny new feature available only in the latest Windows 10 build, for example. Now that the updates are mandatory (and even "schedulable" for who really needs, like enterprises) those devs can assume the user will always be running the latest build available and that also prevents Windows 10 becomes into a fragmentation mess (like Android).

Spying on which files accessed on a local operating system, what the user types in a local OS, is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE worse than online tracking. Offline work by definition is protected privacy, to an extent simply not possible with free online services.

AFAIK Microsoft released a small applet that allows you "blacklisting" specific updates. However, it's only for Windows 10 Pro, I think...
