Windows 10 Anti Piracy - Is Emulation in Danger?

So due to a revision in the Windows 10 EULA, we now know that windows 10 is set to be able to seek out and disable pirated games and programs. If you want to read more about it you can do so here, but to sum it up we don't know for sure when or how this will be implemented, and whether or not it pertains only to Microsoft software or to all the software on your computer. Now, normally I wouldn't mind this at all. It doesn't really concern me, right? But then I started wondering, can ROMs be classified as pirated software? I don't mean from a moral standpoint, that could likely be argued all day. But if a program were to hunt through your computer for pirated software, would a game ROM be seen as such?

Hopefully the answer is as simple as "no, a console game iso and a pirated PC game are two entirely different beasts." Or maybe this will only apply to Windows software and the question is currently irrelevant. But if not then how do you guys feel about this? Does this change your stance on upgrading to Windows 10?

That EULA is for the Windows Store, not Windows 10 itself. Dolphin is not a Windows Store app so the EULA does not apply to it.

Yet again a story was copy/pasted by all the major "gaming news" sites without anyone bothering to actually read the source. I'm so sick of these overdramatic "articles" meant to inspire fear in their audience in order to boost page views by telling their readers what they want to hear. That the evil micro$oft is trying to take their vidya! Please people stop regurgitating this garbage. This happens every time a new windows OS comes out in some form or another and I'm sick of it.

Yes I am mad.

No lol.

If MS did something that stupid it might be the push linux needs to take off. Linux doesn't watch you touch yourself at night, unlike uncle Microsoft.

Almost all of Microsoft's data is thoroughly anonymised before it's sent off anyway, so all they know is that someone's touching themselves, but not exactly what they're viewing as they do it, and that's boring. At any given point in time you can say that someone, somewhere is touching themselves, but you don't know who or where, and you'll be right, but no one cares.

Yeah and anyway it's no more a secret that you, me and most of people here and all over the world are touching themselves in front of their screen. It's more annoying if they're able to know that you're getting pleasure in front of My Little Pony instead of regular porn movies...

Piracy and emulation? Microsoft doesn't care about that. Not as if they had games and consoles to sell... Damn it! I forgot this xbox-thing!
