Window not rendering at full size

I'm attempting to run Dolphin at the full height of my TV's resolution, which is 1600x900, in Windowed mode (fullscreen windowed- I like having the title bar so I can keep track of performance and slowdowns). Also, because Fullscreen makes it appear on my primary monitor, and I want it to play on my TV.

The 'Aspect Ratio' setting in the Config panel has absolutely no effect. Tested many times with many combinations of settings. But the Graphics panel settings definitely work, I just can't find the right combination...

I've tried Aspect Ratio forced to 16:9, forced stretch, forced to window size, Internal Res auto, 1.5x, auto (multiple of 640x528). The closest I can get is this ugly image: http://i.imgur.com/4YM65.jpg

Why the black bars, Dolphin? Am I not in 16:9 already? Smile

If I try instead to get a 4:3 resolution, with the aim of getting it full height with borders left/right (which I don't mind about), the window gets limited to this little square with black borders in EVERY direction: http://i.imgur.com/N5SeP.jpg

Any advice? I wouldn't mind breaking the aspect ratio and just stretching the image, but I've tried configurations to try and achieve this and just end up with the same results. I tried searching, I found one thread describing the same problem (4:3 surrounded by black areas) but they started discussing different issues and I couldn't find a solution to this.

Thanks!

Thank you, I tried those settings, but it resulted in the window being sent to my primary monitor, which is 4:3, so obviously resulted in very large black borders above/below.

I set my TV as my primary display (temporarily) to see what would happen, and I still get black bars above/below there, too.

I've done more searching since I posted this thread, and the consensus seems to be that there is no way to remove the black bars. "Stretch to window" only stretches horizontally, not vertically.

Edit: Thought I had my specs in my profile already, but seems not. I've added them now. For quick ref:
Windows 7 64x
i5 2400 (3.1GHz)
ATI 6850
8GB RAM
Dolphin revision: 3096 "Filthy" Patch

Moogie, what TV do you have? List model and such.

Some TV's don't work properly (eg: black bars etc, not scaled well) when you hook your PC up.
How does your desktop look? Does it also have borders/scaling issues?

The only solution is to lower your native resolution down till it fits.

The TV is a Bush 22" Widescreen, 1920 x 1080. My desktop resolution for the TV is set at 1900x600. There are thin borders above/below the screen to compensate. It's connected via HDMI.

However, Dolphin adds its own, much thicker borders to its render window. These are what bother me. It does not stretch to the full size of my desktop resolution. Hope that makes sense. Smile
