Wind Waker Telescope Glitch

I have the most recent build (3.5) of the dolphin emulator, which I downloaded primarily to play The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. I reached the part of the game where Aryll gives you her telescope, and I assigned it to a button as directed. To my dismay, upon activating the telescope, the screen goes completely black save for the telescope controls and Aryll's dialogue. All of the buttons to my controller were useless, although they made the corresponding "no use" noises in-game. The game is unplayable from there and has to be shut down. Is this an emulator issue, or a ROM issue? I'm using the .iso version downloadable from ***********.

Any help would be appreciated.

NOTE: this isn't a repeated thread, I've checked. The other issues are with the telescope cutscene hanging.

I have not had a problem with that happening in WW, but the problem I was having was that after certain cutscenes, my screen would stay black. If you right click the game with dolphin open, go to properties, then go to the patches tab, there is a patch called fix item hang, try that and see if it works, it worked for me. Only thing though is that when you use that cheat, you will have no audio for the game until you turn it off. Last thing, it is best not to mention where you get your ISOs from, you do not want to get in trouble.
