Wind Waker problems, starts of 100% but slows down dramatically

Hi there,

As noted in the thread description, I have a problem with Zelda: Wind Waker. When starting up the game runs perfectly, no problems whatsoever. But either after a cutscene, or just at a random point in the game, the game speed halves and so does the fps. I've been trying to fiddle around with the settings here and there, but I can't really seem to make it stable so it runs 100% all the time.

Below I've posted my settings as well as my hardware set up:

Processor: Intel Core i5 M430 @ 2.27GHz 2.27GHz
Graphic card: Geforce GT320M 1gb
Ram: 4gb, 3.87 usable

Thanks a lot!

Advice, use the Snipping tool that comes with Win 7 and also where is your Graphics enhanchement screen and Audio?

Ohh and you have the ZTP hack on for wind waker, check that off.
I liked the part where it worked, except there was no such part.

Also when using the telescope the FPS drops a lot strangely enough.

Sorry about that. Thanks for giving me a heads up on the snipping tool, had no idea it existed Tongue.

Did you check your temperatures? Sounds like the system is probably overheating.

Yes I have, and I figured that this could be one of the causes as well. My CPU gets like 92ish(!) degrees when emulating, as well as just playing games. Any idea how I could lower my temperature?

Clean it out. Open it up and blow out all of the dust with a can of dust off.

Don't play on a bed, prop the laptop up on books but leave the bottom open, buy a laptop cooling pad with built in fans.

Nvidia GeForce GT 555M

Maybe put the laptop on a stand so that there is airflow underneath the laptop.

A laptop that overheats can be considered faulty. I would return it and get a laptop that is better designed, personally.
