No solutions. This is a known problem. You can try LLE audio though.
Main Laptop:
Dell XPS 17
i7 2720QM @ 2.2GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
Windows 7 64-bit

Thanks! Enabling LLE does not allow me to load the ISO. Don't know why. You know my specs quoted in my original post. -- seem to be adequate, no?
However by dinking around with recent save states and replaying from there I could stumble into a game advance. Seems to happen during those long blackouts (such as when defeating the Bird in the Forbidden Fortress.
Wonder if going to Win7 @ 64bit might make a difference.

Going to Win64 will not make a difference. To use LLE, read this thread: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=3823

Thanks...checked the thread. I am running Dolphin 3.0 (build 188). LLE is handled only by an option box. (HLE/LLE)

Use 3.0 release, not 3.0-188. You need to run the dol on a Wii, then put the dsp_rom.bin and dsp_coef.bin files in Dolphin/User/GC.
EDIT: Actually, with newer revs Wind Waker should load LLE without the files because it uses Zelda ucode, which is now in the emulator.
