Quote:I guess if my cpu isn't powerful enough I'm gonna have to wait until dolphin is optimized more. I'm guessing it's the conversion code of whatever base instruction set from the wii to x64/x86 the compiler needs to be optimized more.
I know I could of built a way more powerful desktop for less, but having a desktop is inconvient for college life, esp when I need to move out of where I'm living every year or so when I go home for holidays.
Just go ahead and try it out. Your rig will do a great job. You'll only have a small framerate drop in a few specific areas in a few specific games, barely noticeable. Trust me your rig is better than 95% of the people running dolphin and most people only complain about speed in a few isolated spots in a few specific games.

Best way I can think of to explain this is think of it like a refresh rate. It's the number of vertical interruptions per second. The GC/WII are setup to pull the image in XFB to the display 60 times per second. This means that 1. The GC/Wii can output a maximum of 60 fps and 2. Framerates are always a multiple of 60. A few games are designed to run at 60 fps such as metroid prime but most games are designed to run at 30 fps, so every frame is sent to the display twice.
