i7-4700MQ
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M with Optimus
16 GB Ram

Looking to play SSBM, SSBB, SSBPM most likely with Netplay. Could I rest assured that this will run at 59-60fps 99% of the time?

That's pretty exciting to me! Would you consider this laptop "future proof"? as in, would it last me 3 - 4 years or so? I'd hate to drop $1000 only to see slowdown in a year or two.

It's really hard to tell where Dolphin will go in the future.
In terms of general computing, it will last a good number of years

I have the 2670 QM processor, which is a few magnitudes slower than that, and I can run Melee and Project M on netplay.

I have a laptop with a 4700mq and it runs both flawlessly. Make sure you set the game to use the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated card though so you don't overheat.

Beware that it's not a gaming laptop , it will run really hot at full load (overheating is possible) . Dolphin is somewhat more demanding than Prime95 torture test ...

Isn't it more demanding in some ways? I mean Dolphin only uses 2 (sometimes 3) threads on a CPU, while Prime 95 can run on every single thread your computer is capable of running, stressing all the cores of a CPU. They both seem to have their uses (plus Prime95 is more of a longterm test, the longer you go means more time for it to fail and/or heat up).
