I can see this causing problems for many open source projects, as well as emulators if this passes. Please tell me I'm wrong about this.

The TPP practically makes breathing illegal if the same air has every been breathed by someone else before you. Practically, it should have no effect on Dolphin as there are too many laws in there for them to be enforceable.

That better not be another Bernie Sanders reference. I can't use reddit properly right now because 3/5 of posts are about him.

Just a side note, that site looks like a textbook clickbait haven.

It effectively has passed at this point. The most recent leak is supposedly the final draft, so theoretically nothing about it will change before it's made law. China and the US both fully support it in its current form, and any other country basically has to stop trade with them if they don't sign it, too.

I don't see how China would fully support a treaty they're not a signing member of. The TPP is - in more ways than one - actually aimed at countering their economic influence. China has their own trade pact they've been pushing for a while though (one that includes them this time).

The US House and Senate have to approve the treaty, but there is actually a lot of wariness about the TPP among lawmakers (which I'm rather glad to see). It can still get shot down over in the States regardless of how hard Obama pushes it. In fact, the more he pushes it, the more Republicans will probably push back.

Surely the republicans have a greater interest in pushing it, or something similar, through?
