It'll be fine for Not PNG texture packs. I think DDS is supported? I don't know. I don't pay attention to texture packs.
Will it run?

No worries that's great. From what I read there's not much difference between PNG and DDS visually anyway..

(Sorry for the double post) - Just to check, do I have it right that the most efficient and effective way to get antialiased 1080p would be to use 3xIR with MSAA? Is there any benefit to increasing the IR further?

What he means is that MSAA is way less taxing than SSAA, therefore making it a good option for having both good quality graphics and ubershaders (both modes). No. I forgot the details, but basically, with the way ubershaders works, MSAA has almost no perf hit (in exclusive mode). Degasus or Stenzek can explain why. 09-14-2017, 04:49 PM

@andykara2003 the 1060 6GB version is the sweet spot for your CPU, anything higher (GTX1070 and up) and you will be severely bottle-necking your GPU, and you will see diminishing returns in any PC game. This will basically mean that you will gain only 1-2FPS in PC games, for a price hike of 30-40%. But with a faster CPU you will see much bigger gains. For Dolphin a higher/faster card might mean that you might be able to use higher IR's and/or more SSAA
This is with personal benchmarking in 10 PC games running at 4k Ultra(or the highest settings available without using any type of AA) no-vsync (Witcher 3, GTA5, Rise of the Tombraider, Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice, World of Warcraft Legion, Dirt 4, Crysis 3, Doom, Battlefield 1, ARK Survival Evolved, Life is Strange) Specs of my HTPC: Intel Pentium G4560 MSI PC Mate B250 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz (2x8GB Dual Channel running at 2400MHz CL12) Samsung Evo 960 Pro 256GB nVME Windows 10 Pro x64 with latest updates Samsung KM6000 UHD TV (and now attached to a GTX1060 6GB ) Tested with: GTX1050Ti, GTX1060 3GB, GTX1060 6GB, GTX1070 and GTX1080 (yay for being friends with a dude that works at a PC-shop ) No AMD cards were tested since I don't like the last generation All tested with latest drivers

Thanks for that mstreurman - in another thread Renazor let me know that the 'consolized' dedicated Dolphin machine I was going for won't work as I wanted it to so I've decided to go for a decent general purpose gaming PC instead - which means it makes more sense to splash out on a better CPU. Alongside a higher end graphics card it means I can go for SSAA with ubershaders with plenty of headroom which is nice..

All purpose is awesome too All I can say is that my computer starts up faster than my TV starts to give Video-output, it really less than 5 seconds from a cold boot into the Windows 10 desktop. (start menu visible and all desktop icons loaded)
