Wiiu to GC Adapter not being detected in dolphin

So i followed the guide for using the adapter multiple times and dolphin still isnt recognizing my adapter and controller? Any suggestions on what to do?

Are you using a new enough version of Dolphin? Your profile says you're using 4.0-652, which doesn't have native support for GameCube controller adapters.

im going to try a different version now. im just using the older one for netplay

I keep getting this error when i try and start a newer version: "The program cant start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer." Following that is another error message: "The program cant start because VCRUNTIME1400.dll is missing from your computer."

I just reinstalled using this guide https://www.smashladder.com/guides/view/264m/dolphin-ladder-build-4-0-7840.
Still no luck at ALL
