Wiiu adapter issue

Im not gonna lie, im a PC scrub and i barely understand the device im using. But, i do know that my gamecube adapter worked absolutely perfectly. Thanksgiving comes by and i take my adapter out of my PC and i take it over my friends place for some Sm4sh. When I get back and plug it into my PC, it no longer works. What do i do from here?

Did you try reinstalling it?

so delete the drivers and reinstall?

I think you should just be able to overwrite them.
