Hi,
I'm very new to this particular emulation scene, but it's very interesting and I have come across my first query.
I have a Wiimote and a Bluetooth dongle, so I should be okay to pair them two (when I get home to test it). I have been looking into alternatives to the sensor bar and I am on an extremely limited budget (like, paying nothing if I can help it). I don't really fancy the candle trick as an alternative but I was wondering if the sensor bar which came with my PC would work.
I have a Dell XPS 420 which has been slightly modified over the years. It's not fantastic, but still holds its own. It came with a sensor bar for the Media Centre remote control, but I have never used it. I am wondering if I might be able to use this as an alternative for the Wiimote, whether it's too narrow to be accurate or whether it can be modified (stretch the IR lights inside out) to make it work. Would I need any additional software, or is it simply a case of plugging it in so it emits an IR field for the Wiimote to pick up on?
Like I say, I'm extremely new to this and it might not even be possible, but I thought I would ask as even a few pounds for a wireless bar is a few pounds I really don't have right now.
Here's a picture of the remote and sensor if it helps.
Cheers.
