I just wanted to note some things that I noticed when booting my WiiOS in Dolphin.
Version used: 3.3U
Emulation State: In-game, other issues
I noticed several things. Even though my WiiOS is "installed" in Dolphin, I can't return to it from a game. Dolphin emits a panic, and then locks up rather than loading and running the title. However, when I use the Wii Menu button and attempt to do this anyway, I can then immediately run my System Menu (using the .wad I created of it) and instead of displaying the health and safety warning, it behaves as though I just exited a game and goes straight to the menu. So it seems that Dolphin is *almost* doing this right.
The settings menu crashes immediately upon loading. The data menu seems to be working alright, but none of the save files actually show up on the Wii side. The GC memory cards work great, and it makes for a nice graphical memory card manager.
The Disc channel, naturally, works fine. That is to say, since there's no way to tell dolphin that a disc is in the slot when you load a title other than a disc, it behaves as though the disc slot is empty. If the WiiOS were ever directly bootable in a normal fashion (as in, if there were an option when loading a disc to boot the menu first) I would expect the disc channel to actually show the banner for the disc.
As far as I can tell, the menu is *working* just fine, all things considered. But of course, in order for it to be considered proper, it needs to be able to see the rest of the system. At the very least, I'd say it should be able to detect and launch the other channels that are installed on the Nand. That would make it a lot easier to launch my channels that I know are installed.
In fact, to be honest, it seems that the only real "bug" in the wiiOS is that it cannot read the NAND, since it seems to be able to tell everything else about the system.
Anyone else having more luck than I am? Post away.
