For some reason, when I load up Skyward Sword, the little pointer will not show up on the screen. I have successfully connected a wiimote and attatched a wiimotion+ accessory to it, but it does not seen to work. I am using 5.0-10056 on a 2011 mac.

You need a sensor bar for that. If you have one, make sure you're not standing too close to or too far from the screen.

If you don't want to solder anything, the easiest way to use your existing sensor bar would be to keep to plugged in to your Wii while you are using Dolphin. (The sensor bar doesn't need to connect to Dolphin, it just needs to get power from somewhere.) Or you could buy a USB powered or battery powered sensor bar.
