Hi, I own an old Nintendo Wii that I wanted to be able to play on my computer. I purchased the Mayflash Dolphin Bar, successfulled paired a real Wiimote with MotionPlus to it, and tested it successfully with the Game Controller settings in Windows 10. All buttons work OK. When I plug in a classic controller it's input is recognized correctly as well. Same thing when I plug in the NunChuck. So I am sure that everything physically works. (well, except for motion controls which I cannot test, but it works with my real Wii)
I dumped my NAND, put it in the correct folder for Dolphin to read, and it's able to see my save games correctly, so I decided to try loading up a game. I went with Chrono Trigger, as a simple test, and while the game loads OK it says "You will need the classic controller" and no input is recognized. I tried this in both Mode 3 and Mode 4, although of note the Wiimote doesn't vibrate turning on unless it's in mode 4. Otherwise I'm not seeing a difference.
I look at options > controller settings and I have "Real Wii Remote" selected under Wii Remote 1.
I also tried going to Tools > Connect Wii Remotes > Connect Wii Remote 1 ; and this did not do anything either.
I then tried a different game, this time "Fortune Street" - one that I know is Wiimote only. Unfortunately, I get stuck on the start where is tells me "Hold the Wii Remote horizontally." as it is not recognizing the press of button 2.
Now, this is all with the setting "Emulate the Wii's Bluetooth adapter" which, from the guides I read and the videos I watched, should be the setting to use along with Mode 4. However, I did try playing around with other settings to see what does what. If I instead try the setting "Passthrough a Bluetooth adapter" I get this trying to load any game:
So, that setting keeps games from even booting. There aren't allot of other options I can think to play around with, but so far nothing is working. My computer recognizes the input, so why doesn't Dolpin? What could I be missing?
I searched this issue, and the closest examples I could find involve people who had it paired through their computer's bluetooth, but I haven't done that. Regardless, I tried unpairing and synching again, even while a game is running, but no dice.
Also: Is there a way to just load the Wii menu? Since it's pulled from a real system NAND all my games should appear there to load from and, more importantly, I'd be able to test motion input at least.
