Wiimote won't connect on OSX

I try syncing my wiimote to dolphin (I'm on OSX) and it vibrates for 5 seconds but is never registered within the game that it connected. Any ideas?

Are you using the sync button under the battery cover or pressing 1+2 simultaneously? I fought with it the first time for quite a while until I tried 1+2. Also make sure you are syncing to dolphin and not directly to OSX, dolphin won't recognize it if you sync directly to the OS. It takes me 4 tries every time to sync.

1st fails
2nd syncs then drops
3rd fails
4th syncs

Hope some of this helps, otherwise I'm stumped.
