Hello everyone. I'm new to this emulator and I'm a little confused. How do you guys set up the wiimote to pick up movement? Is there a PC sensor bar? I've read a way to make your own but I'm looking for more options.

1. Windows 7 32-bit
2. Intel Duo P8600 2.4Ghz
3. Nvidia 9700M GT
4. Dolphin R4525 (I think) lol

P.S. Thank you for this emulator, this gives me a reason to keep my wii since it's started eating disks on me.

Any light source or infrared light will do, but they do sell this things, look here http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=wii+sensor&x=0&y=0

The sensor bar has nothing to do with the software (dolphin) or your pc, its just an infrared light source, so i suggest you make your own. Big Grin You could also use your wii's, just make some kind of adapter for a power supply (or battery) of the voltage needed, i think is 1.5v ? im not sure.
My Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0ghz - w7/Ubuntu 11.04

you just need 2 infrared emitting sources. those sources can be a two candles or simply two (or more) infrared LEDs(powered by batteries or usb).

here are some links:
http://doctabu.livejournal.com/64758.html
http://terbidium.com/content/projects/wiihacks/usb_sensorbar.php
http://ca.rroll.net/2008/03/22/custom-built-usb-sensor-bar/

the wii sensorbar doesnt "sensor" anything. it just emitting infrared and the infrared camera build into the wiimote detects the two glowing lights. thats all.

you only need a bluetooth stick to connect your wiimote to the pc.

heres my sensorbar:

look for cheap 1 dollar ones on amazon or ebay.. with shipping and handling, the total is less than 4 dollars.

your choices are:

1- get third party one battery powered

2- use your existing wii sensor bar

3- make your own and power it via USB (this is what I done)

It would probably be more economical and less of a mess to just buy a wireless sensor bar. I like my Nyko.
