Wiimote RVL-CNT-01 Won't Connect

I did a quick search through both the FAQ and the forum but couldn't find an answer.
I'm trying to connect my Wiimote and am having trouble. Windows recognizes the controller and will connect when I press either the red button on the controller or 1+2. At that point, the controller's LEDs just blink for eternity.

In Dolphin, if I go Wiimote Configuration, press refresh, and then hit 1+2, nothing seems to happen. The Dolphin window will briefly refresh but that's it. I cannot access the Real Wiimote configuration button nor does anything change on the Wiimote itself. I've tried both when having paired with Windows before hand and without. For kicks, I also tried disabling the Wiimote speaker to no avail.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Dolphin v4.0.2 x64. My Wiimote registers with Windows as RVL-CNT-01. My Bluetooth radio is on-board the Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe. It's a Broadcom using Broadcom's v6.5.1.1061 drivers, VID 0B05, PID 17B5.

Any ideas?

You don't have to Add Device with windows to sync with Dolphin. Turn on bluetooth and open Wiimote config from Dolphin, select Real Wiimote and hold 1+2 to sync. If done correctly Windows plug-n-play will tell you your Wiimote is installed then release 1+2 button to sync with Dolphin.

Remember to either turn on continuous scanning then press 1+2 in the wiimote menu or in game, or if continuous scanning is off press 1+2 on the wiimote and then press "refresh" in the wiimote menu.

If I press 1+2 and then refresh, the four blue LEDs start to blink and then eventually only the first three blink. If I enable continuous scanning, the same thing happens.

In both cases Windows always tells me it's installing drivers for the device and that the drivers were installed successfully. This happens even if I remove the device from the Windows Bluetooth Devices window.

I've tried waiting for the Wiimote configure button to enable but it doesn't happen. I've also turned on continuous scanning, launched a game, and pressed 1+2. When I do this, the emulator simply telling me on launch that the Wiimote is disconnected and it never connects.

Here's a video of what I just tried: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tddhanv_do

The video shows you never had "drivers were installed successfully". All installed unsuccessfully.
I can see your sync failed on your video and not installed. Device driver not successfully installed.
First you don't need Device and Printers open. Close all bluetooth windows and just activate bluetooth by clicking Turn Adapter On.
You sync your Wiimote first before you start your game. Open Wiimote config window and sync from there and always check Continuously Scanning and do not close window.
You may have to sync twice to get it right.

Yeah, I'm not really sure why the installation failed there. It didn't before and hasn't since, heh.

I only had the Bluetooth Device window open to show what happens. Even with it closed, Windows still prompts me that it's installing drivers.

When I open the Wiimote configuration window, turn on continuous scanning, and press 1+2 on the Wiimote, nothing happens. The controller will blink and then either turn off or blink forever. If it turns off, I hit 1+2 again and the same thing happens. What exactly should happen? I am assuming the Real Wiimote config button should turn from disabled to enabled.

I also using an onboard bluetooth but its a Atheros from Asus P9X79 Pro.

hmm this maybe a dumb question but did you Hold 1+2 long enough for the drivers to install and sync?

What happens is when you successfully installed the drivers release 1+2 button and your Wiimote will vibrate and connect to Dolphin.

Here read this guide: http://www. shall not be named/connect-wiimote.html

That link was helpful to get my Wiimote working on first attempt.

Thanks for the link. Pressing the OK button to close out the Wiimote window did the trick. Foolish me. Thanks again!

Ahh finally! Some Wii games are best playing with a Wiimote and some with gamepad. Enjoy your games. Big Grin
