There's a tray utility called wiiscantray here http://mergeit.dk/open-it/projekter/egne/wii.html
I think to set it up you need to delete your wiimote and then resync it.. then add it's MAC address to the wiiscan.ini file.
It works for me..
I turn on my Wiimote (genuine), then start Dolphin, click the Wiimote plugin button and the Wiimote shakes..
Close the plugin and open the ISO I want to play..
Get Sync errors occasionally from which the only solution I'm aware of is to exit from the game and re-open the Wiimote Plugin window.
It'd be nice if Dolphin automatically searched for Wiimotes on startup and could re-sync in game.
