Wiimote refuse to stay synced!

Hi

I recently got a wiimote for use with dolphin, it works great, allthough with the major inconvenience that i have to go through the first installation process everytime i use it. The bluetooth device is still showing up just not as "connected" and the wiimote doesnt light up any led's.

So for every game session i have to start by deleting the wiimote in bluetooth devices, re sync them and from there it works fine until i quit dolphin.

I suppose people have got it working just by turning on the wiimote and the syncronization would still be in effect?

Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

I'm using a "billionton" bluetooth v2.0 dongle on Vista x64 with no 3rd party software installed.

There's a tray utility called wiiscantray here http://mergeit.dk/open-it/projekter/egne/wii.html
I think to set it up you need to delete your wiimote and then resync it.. then add it's MAC address to the wiiscan.ini file.

It works for me..

I turn on my Wiimote (genuine), then start Dolphin, click the Wiimote plugin button and the Wiimote shakes..
Close the plugin and open the ISO I want to play..

Get Sync errors occasionally from which the only solution I'm aware of is to exit from the game and re-open the Wiimote Plugin window.

It'd be nice if Dolphin automatically searched for Wiimotes on startup and could re-sync in game.

The WiiScantray site no longer has a download link. Fortunately I didn't wipe the hard drive that had my ROM's and wiiscantray package on it when I upgraded (and clean installed) Windows 7.
I've uploaded it here for my and others benefits.
It's been zipped with 7zip

I've found this to work best for whatever reason:

Sync the wiimote via bluetooth, use WinMote to lock it on. Open Dolphin, Wii Controller Config , Feel the buzz, start a game, close it, close WinMote, and it seems pretty solid after that.

Not using WinMote causes way more sync issues

As for WiiScanTray , that I could not get to work at all. Added the MAC address manually, scanned, nothing.

I'll try that, anyone have any ideas why sometimes when I launch a game the wiimote will work then sometimes it wouldn't?

Hey guys im bumping this thread because i have the very same problem and cannot find an answer, I have to resync the wiimote (twice) every time i want to use it because I take out the batteries to save them.

If i leave the batteries in its all ok but who does that Sad

im not rich to buy fucking batteries every two days xD, Or does the wii mote just doesn't use that much power when its idle?

I cannot find that "winmote" driver anywhere and the damn wiiscantray doesn't detect shiatz.

I'm also having this problem.
Well, it's a problem anyone using the Windows bluetooth stack would have. Windows does not include a 'connect/disconnect' option, so the drivers must be uninstalled/reinstalled every time you power off the wiimote.

For anyone still interested in this issue, there's a fix for it now. I showed that code to one of the dolphin devs and he managed to include it into the latest revision. File is NOT attached (wtf 4MB limit). Get it here: http://archiv.to/GET/FILE4B421647B8D61

Instructions (well this is what I did to get it working):

Have the M$ Bluetooth wiimote driver installed.

1. Open up Dolphin, go into the Wiimote config.
2. Make Wiimote discoverable by hitting 1 and 2 (or + and -)
3. hit Pair Up Wiimotes. This will reinstall microsoft's bluetooth driver. After a few seconds, you should get a message saying "1 Wiimote(s) connected."
4. Click the m$ Bluetooth icon, close the dialogue box that says 'driver successfully installed', otherwise you'll be wondering why it doesn't work.

After that, you're all set to go. The wiimote is paired to your PC, really paired, which means you can take the battery out, put it back in, hit 'connect real wiimote' and it'll connect! Note that this hasn't been tested with multiple wiimotes yet, but confirmed working with one. Please test with multi-wiimotes! This should also be committed very soon.
