do I need an original wiimote for dolphin or will a cheap fake work ? also would I need a sensor bar ? never mind the sensor bar question I found my answer. but still no answer for the wiimote.

It's probably not best to get a 'cheap fake' Wiimote, as normally, they're pretty cheap and nasty. I've heard that most of the time, non-official wiimotes don't work too well with Dolphin, and I've got real wiimotes, and I haven't had a single problem with them (no disconnecting or anything).
