Hi!
I read the other day that in Dolphin 5.0 the infamous crackling noise was fixed and we could at last play with real wiimote sounds, at least using TR-wiimotes.
Happy to know this, I downloaded the new version and I went and bought an official TR-wiimote (I only had "regular" wiimotes).
I connected it the way the guide on the page tells us to (via the red button on the back (I have Windows 10))... but it's producing the same crackling noise as my normal wiimotes did Sad.
I tried jumping from HLE to LLE in sound options, XAudio, OpenAL with different latencies, tried different USB bluetooth dongles... all to no avail. I've tried it with Super Mario Kart Wii and the Home menu.
I have a good enough PC (gtx 970, i5, etc) and my framerates are good so I don't think that's the problem.
I've tried to play with "emulated" wiimote and the sound sounds good on the PC speakers.
What's missing, or what may I be doing wrong?
Thank you!

I don't. I thought one of the perks of the new Dolphin 5.0 (as advertised) was not needing that. I'll try it and post results.

It is, that was my point.

Well, anyway... same result. Had to deactivate windows driver signature enforcement and modify the .ini of the Toshiba driver for it to recognize my USB dongle, though.
Tried it with two different dongles (had to do the same both times)... same result. Crackling noise. Tried HLE, LLE, OpenAl, Xaudio... etc.

What else can I look for?
EDIT: The message from Dolphin saying it cannot find a bluetooth device happens when I install the Toshiba driver. I didn't have that problem before. Now I have to configure it first on the Toshiba program and then it will work on Dolphin.

Your screenshot is showing a RVL-CNT-01 wiimote. Currently, Wiimote audio only works right on RVL-CNT-01-TR wiimotes (most of the Wii Remote Plus should be -TR)...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (21H2)

But it IS an official Wiimote with the integrated MotionPlus! Not all of them are valid? What should I look for then?

Actually, the first batches of Wii Remote Plus units were RVL-CNT-01 units when Nintendo released them, but shortly after, Nintendo switched to RVL-CNT-01-TR units. Nowadays, all newer units are RVL-CNT-01-TR, another sign is that they generally have a sync button that's accessible without removing the battery cover.

TL;DR judging by the photos, the Wii Remote Plus you bought definitely is genuine, but somehow you managed to get a unit from the first batch (the ones identified as RVL-CNT-01 -- pretty rare nowadays). RVL-CNT-01 units (be it the standard Wiimotes or the first batches of Wii Remote Plus) still sound garbled in Dolphin, proper Wiimote Audio works only with RVL-CNT-01-TR units...
