I decided to get rid of the xbox 360 controller and exchange it for an actual wiimote. While pairing the wiimote with my pc I get this error message from my bluetooth software in the pics below. How can I get my pc to fully recognize my wiimote so I can start using it?

The software is called WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software. It came with the bluetooth device. I tried to to install and use bluesoleil, but it never recognized my bluetooth device.

I hate to be apain in the butt, but where do I go to do that? I tried the icon in the control panel and it didn't do anything.

Just a side note, I've had issues with removing bluetooth software... I had BlueSoleil installed, removed it, and now the Windows 7 default stack won't allow me to pair with anything and doesn't find devices set to discoverable (my phone, my bluetooth headset...) even after reinstalling the bluetooth adapter. A lot of options in the bluetooth menu (systray rightclick) are grayed out when I know they shouldn't be.
Installing 3rd party bluetooth stacks should only be done as a last resort in my opinion. 11-20-2009, 12:03 PM
It worked! I'm using mine now! Thank you!
dstruct2k: This is what I did. After I uninstalled the software and restarted my pc I went into the device manager and uninstalled the driver for my bluetooth device. I also checked "delete the driver" when I uninstalled it and about 30 seconds later vista automatically installed the microsoft driver for my bluetooth device. The icon in my system tray appeared and it was blue. This time I was able to pair the wiimote with my pc. Try that and see if that works for you. Windows 7 should work the same as vista. 11-21-2009, 01:02 AM
Did all that already, including a bit more cleaning. Seems the Microsoft bluetooth stack is just broken. I do get the blue-lit bluetooth icon in the systray, but when I rightclick it, most of the options are grayed out. Also, "Add a device" just scans forever and never finds any of the 3 devices I set to visible within 10 feet, even though it all worked fine a month ago.
Whatever. Glad yours works. |
