Wiimote not working with sensor bar

Do you have it synced with Bluetooth? thats how the real Wiimotes attach to the Wii, and it'll be the same for PC, the sensor bar is just an IR device the Wiimote then uses to approximate it's location. the Wii Motion Plus i believe is the addition of a gyroscope.
