Skyward Sword

If I choose Real Wiimote I often get stuck in "Connect Wii Remote and Nunchuck to motionplus attachment" etc
I can pass that screen by connecting and disconnecting the Wiimote via "Tools > Connect Wiimotes > Connect Wiimote 1" several times

If I choose Hybrid Wiimote I get stuck on that screen whatever I do
And I want to use Hybrid because game keeps working fine after I unplug the sensor bar and turn off the Wii
I connect sensor bar to Wii and power it up just to get past a pesky "Point your remote here and press A" screen
if Hybrid worked I could use mouse for that

You can quickly connect and disconnect your wiimote by pressing alt f5, that's a bit faster than going through the menu. I'm not sure why the wm+ is not detected properly, it would be nice to fix this somehow.

I don't think hybrid wiimote is in a state that actually works for anything. It's being worked on, but it will take a while.

An alternative to using the sensor bar could be to use 2 candles...

No, it won't. Skyward Sword uses the sensor bar all the time doing some recalibrations without the user noticing it, no just when the game ask to point at the screen and press A. Do some sword play or swim a little without a sensor bar to see how messy and glitchy the controls will get.

Hybrid Wiimote is very hacky. One of the side effects is that real Wiimote extensions get overridden by the emulated ones, since there's no emulated Motion Plus extension in Dolphin, the game won't continue. And even if Dolphin had, you would face the calibration issues I stated earlier...
